Promise to Students:
(Things you can expect from your coaches)
1. You are important.
Regardless of:
Gender, race, religion, disability status, political views, academic background,
or any other arbitrary division of people,
who are all unique anyway.
You have the right to be who you are.
2. You have talent.
Regardless of:
Learning style, family history, school performance, or anything mentioned in #1.
Intelligence does not always equal motivation.
Lack of motivation does not equal "bad".
You are not alone. You had reasons.
Good ones.
Our job is to help you recognize and move past them, so that you can achieve your goals, whatever those might be.
3. Your journey is always more important than our egos.
Always.
If we are so insecure that we need to bolster our self-image at your expense,
then we should probably go back to school ourselves
and figure out what we missed,
instead of trying to teach you.

Any teacher's inability to actually explain concepts in a way that works for you
or desire to make themselves feel good about themselves by making something seem overly complicated
...is a reflection on them, not you.
It is not impossible to master the exam.
We. Are Here.
For You.
Many teachers forget (or never thought about) why they got into teaching in the first place.
We think about it every day.
We think the universe would be a better place if more people were better connected to the universe around them, including to each other, and our continuing goal is to serve you as you help us further this path.
You deserve to feel wonder. You deserve to feel good about yourself. You deserve to gain access to the mysteries of the universe, insofar as we currently understand them, and perhaps even push those boundaries yourself.
You deserve to enjoy yourself in the process.
Everyone traces the same journey from A to B, including those of us who might seem further along. It is simply a question of where you happen to be right now, where you want to go, and which sights you want to see along the way.
We are all unlimited, and we are all in this together.
